3376. Chinese New Year 10th day, 8 am. Feb 25, 2018

Feb 25, 2018  10th day 8 am.

9th day was significant for Hokkien as it is lst day of CNY for Hokkiens.  Offerings with white rice cake and longevity buns would be presented by Hokkiens on Feb 24, 2018 (9th day, Jade Emperor's birthday)

Garden nearer to my house sliding doors, topped up with rabbit litter yesterday afternoon 3 pm and hosed with water.

A new species of 2 to 4 small mushroom with ragged edges appears in plantar box. These are shown in images below. The others are mainly usual grey ones in the box with occasional white of same family.

3375. A 16-year-old dog stops eating for past 2 days.

Have not seen this dog for past 4 years. Should have annual check up and get the rotten teeth extracted in 2014 but when owner heard of anaesthetic risk, did not do it.
Temp below normal in morning and afternoon to less than 37.5 C despite IV drip and medication. Suspect septicaemia from rotten teeth and gum disease. Blood test.

Blood test -  leucocytosis and neutrophilia. The dog needed IV drip, syringe feeding of AD and medication for 3 days before he could stand up and eat himself. Dental was done on Day 4.I used gas mask only, intubated and extracted the loose canines x 3 and the molars x 2 in 9 minutes. The dog survived and was sent home for the owner to feed by hand. Canned food only.

It was a great relief for me that he did not die under isoflurane gas anaesthesia. The owner in her late 30s, a private tuition tutor had not wanted any dental 2 years ago, fearing anaesthetic death, but now had no choice. A happy ending is not guaranteed when the dog can barely stand and had stopped eating for 2 days due to bacteraemia.

3374. 8am. 9th day Chinese New Year. New flat mushroom and wilting small ones in plantar box

New flat mushroom in garden grows overnight. Domed one is 24 hours old and wilting.

3373. Chinese New Year 7th day. Feb 22, 2018. Abundant mushrooms in plantar box. Few in garden

A big brown mushroom appears in the garden. Only one. Much fewer small mushrooms.

More small mushrooms grey and white appear on Feb 22, 2018 (Day 8, Mankind's birthday) in my plantar box. Lesser in the small garden, but a large brown mushroom bud is seen.
