PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS 1 Jan 2023#Yio Chu Kang Cres forest.
A young red dragonfly poses for me for 3 minutes. Got one sharp
image out of several using LED focusing.
Got good videos as he was very patient like a model. The breezes
sway the twig but twice he flew away and returned.
After more than 3 minutes, another strong breeze pushed him off.
He decided I should have plenty of good images of him at 2 pm, 31 Dec

A SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME USING THE EHMER SLING TO
TREAT A RIGHT HIP DISLOCATION POODLE
Veterinary Case Study
by: Dr Sing Kong Yuen, BVMS (Glasgow) 30 Dec 2022
This
merged video is to share information with pet owners and vets that
the Ehmer Sling, applied by Vet 1, has been successful in reducing
the poodle's right dislocated hip, although it was applied for only 4
days on 8 Nov 2022. The owner contacted me on 12 Nov 2022 because Vet
1 could not give her an appointment within 24 hours.
The dog
was in great pain (lst 2 of merged video with blue sling at home)
panting and giving a foul smell. The owner wanted me to take out the
Ehmer Sling, wash the exposed muscles of the inguinal-thigh wound of
3 cm across and re-apply the sling.
It was not in the
interest of the dog. I convinced her that the Ehmer Sling had to be
removed. She said, " I want a new sling to be applied after
cleaning up the wound."
"No," I said. "The
dog has a bad odour and is in great pain due to the tight sling. The
sling can be applied a few days later. In any case, the dog is
suffering from infections of the open skin wound".
We
kept in touch via WhatsApp and tele-conversation. On 27 December,
2022, I got the owner to send me a video. It showed that the dog was
able to walk and support the right hind limb (Merged video 2:02 -
2:15). So, that is a happy ending for her and for the beloved
pet.
CONCLUSION:
There is little
information on the success rates of Ehmer Sling in reducing hip
dislocation in dogs. The usual and Toa Payoh Vets' recommendation is
7 – 14 days of the Ehmer Sling on the dog. In this case, the
Sling was taken out by me on Day 4, but the dog has had recovered
well to put weight on the right hind foot as evident in the video on
Day 44.
The following is required when Ehmer Sling is
applied: 1. The dog should be a small breed. 2. The hip
dislocation should be dorso-lateral, but NOT ventro-latera..

am, 27/12/2022] David Sing: photo of dog standing ( back view) [6:23
pm, 27/12/2022] +65 XXX: Good evening, Dr Sing.
Dog can walk
relatively ok, very very slight limp. Based on your experience
Doctor, does it look like the bone is still inside the socket?
She
is still on ecollar because when I remove, she will lick the dander
that’s on her leg outer thigh. The scales can be removed during
bath, but can form as fast as the next day. I used nizoral
ketoconazole 1%, or Dermcare Malaseb medicated dog shampoo.
Thank
you.

Dog walks almost as good as normal. Cannot expect 100%.
-----------------------------------
SOME IMAGES IN DECEMBER 2022 showing the dog walking "normally". This means no more hopping or limping showing that the right hip is reduced inside the hip joint. No X-ray is done to save money for this owner. She is fully satisfied and very happy as she would have to spend more money had I re-apply the Ehmer sling as she wanted it to be done.
More infections, delays of healing and malnutrition and death could be the outcome if I listened to what the client wanted.
Another video explained the beginning of the case.
COMMENTS
FROM A SINGAPOREAN MIGRATED TO AUSTRALIA 19 YEARS AGO:
Such a
talented performer. Sadly in Singapore most people do not know
how to appreciate or acknowledge it. They are more concerned
with materialistic values like real estate, cars, money, branded
goods etc. When I have breakfast in a local coffee shop I often
hear groups of people talking about property prices, en bloc sales,
stocks and shares. People are comparing one another's wealth
and flaunt it. I noticed even the checkout staff in NTUC
supermarket or the hawker in the hawker centre wears Rolex watches
while working. The conversation has never been on arts, music etc.
You were right about people walking right past without even looking
at the performance as being rude. My 2 cents observation.
SINGAPORE ARTS - 2013 - A rare Caucasian performance for
heartlanders - Toa Payoh Market Food Centre 30 Dec 2022. Videography
9 years ago. I merged 2 videos using Adobe Premier Pro today.
In Oct 2013, I was at the Toa Payoh Market and Food Centre
practising street photography. My Canon camera was for amateurs and I
did not expect the video to be reasonably sharp. I was
very surprised to see a Caucasian lady performing in the heartlands,
as the best place would be downtown Orchard Road if she wanted to
earn more money.
She juggled the glass balls without dropping the one placed on top
of her head. This was not easy. Then she did the hula hoops. The
audience was a handful. Some residents walked past in front and
behind her. I consider this as disrespectful.
Two boys put some money in her TIP BOX.
I did see such busking performers in Europe during my packaged
tours and in downtown Orchard Road. But in Toa Payoh? This was the
heartland. So this is probably the rare footage of a foreign
performance at the heartlands 9 years ago in 2013. Before the
Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
In this video, the heartlanders in general appeared to be not
interested in the Arts!

Palcho Monastery - The Only Tibet Monastery with Three Sects in One Temple
Often referred to as the Pelkor Chode Monastery, Palcho Monastery is the only monastery in Tibet that encompasses three of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism under one roof.
Built as an attempt to continue the Yarlung Dynasty of Tibetan Kings, following the assassination of King Langdarma, the monastery was originally a Sakya monastery, with parts of the main monastery being built by various local nobles. Several buildings were constructed as religious colleges of Sakya, Kagyu, and Gelugpa sects.
The famous Gyantse Fortress, which sits on the hill nearby, was built in the 13th century, and was an important addition to the area. The monastery is also home to the stunning Gyantse Kumbum, a nine-tiered stupa that is the only one of its kind in Tibet.
If you are planning a trip to Gyantse, then you should really take a full day to explore and enjoy the monastery and its surroundings, and it can be visited at any time of year. Travel from Lhasa is best done as part of a longer tour, such as the stunning 15-day Mount Kailash Tour, which passes through the town and monastery on its way west.
