Such a talented performer.  Sadly in Singapore most people do not know how to appreciate or acknowledge it.  They are more concerned with materialistic values like real estate, cars, money, branded goods etc.  When I have breakfast in a local coffee shop I often hear groups of people talking about property prices, en bloc sales, stocks and shares.  People are comparing one another's wealth and flaunt it.  I noticed even the checkout staff in NTUC supermarket or the hawker in the hawker centre wears Rolex watches while working. The conversation has never been on arts, music etc.  You were right about people walking right past without even looking at the performance as being rude. My 2 cents observation.
