Day 3 inpatientToa Payoh VetsThe scrotal wound (arrow) is dry. Hamster is active, eating, not licking the scrotal skin. Sent home to continue antibiotics and observation.Neuter at around 20 Oct should be routinely advised as bacterial infectionsmay become resistant to antibiotics. It is up to the owner whether to accept the advice.

16 Oct 2022.
Video 3 and 4. Day 3 of Inpatient at Toa Payoh Vets.  Has recovered well, eating, active

However, the infections were not eliminated by the antibiotics. The bacteria must have become

resistant to the antibiotics. He had a serious swelling, like testicular torsion. He died the next day.

He passed away on 17 Oct 2022,  Day 4 of inpatient.  As no post-mortem was done, it was not possible to know the exact cause of death.

A CASE OF CLOSED PYOMETRA IN 2014.

13-year-old female Jack Russell was on heat 2 months ago. No signs of heat but the male dog tried to mate with her. Four videos are produced to explain closed pyometra in the dog.

Abdominal X-rays showed closed pyometra. Swollen loops of uterus.

Emergency spay after a 24-hour I/V drip plus medication was done by Dr Daniel. You can see the swollen uterus. I advised only isoflurane gas + Oxygen, no I/V sedation as this dog was much lethargic. A speedy surgery ensures the dog survives. Gas by mask was OK in this case. I assess that this dog has a good chance of survival as the owner did not procrastinate seeing the vet. However she was extremely lethargic and had slight anemia. So Dr Daniel did not think she would be Ok post op. The dog woke up just after the last skin stitch. This was a good sign.


3. POST-SURGERY. CLOSED PYOMETRA. Uterine loops are incised to show the abundant pus.

CONCLUSION. As at July 9, 2014, around 10 days post-operation, the dog was in excellent health. She went home to a happy daughter of the owner who had not wanted to spay her as he wanted her to have puppies.

George, the photographer is a 72-year-old man who kindlysent me photos from Australia for my stock photo collection. He had 10 photos qualified by shutterstock, a testament to his patience, perseverance and practice. I did not expect him to be so proactive as to take time off to give me photos of Australian scenery and places for me to add to my shutterstock.com photos.

Photography promotes mental wellness if you take good quality photos, as you will think how to do it and receive appreciation from your viewers.

Aeonium haworthii or the Pinwheel plant is a beautiful succulent suitable for a pot. A mature plant can grow as big as 24 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. Its green leaves with pink edges are very attractive while its white flowers add to its value.

4394. TRAVEL STORIES. A 79-year-old dog walker in Perth in April 2010. KINDLE STORIES

A broad-chest muscled Caucasian passed by. He was a strong-looking tough man in dark sunglasses, walking a medium-sized Boxer-like dog in this beautiful park. I asked him about the plant with cones of yellow, white, pink, brown and black colours, so commonly seen in parks. It appears on the logo of Murdoch University too.

 

 

"Banksia plants are common in Australia," the man said. "You can suck the nectar from the small flowers of this banksia plant."  He asked whether I wanted to do it. "No, thanks," I said. 

He walked dogs every morning and boarded them for people. "Do you charge for your services?" I asked. "No," he said. "Just whisky at the end of the walk."

He was 79 years old, had both eye lens replaced, a not so strong heart. But his mind was very active and alert. Many men in their 60s become senile, but he was so mentally alert and could tell me the species of various birds in the park and the whole history of coin-collecting. 

"How do you safeguard your coins?" I asked. I presume he was living alone. "I don't put all my coins in one place," he said. "Some in the bank, some in a safe."

BANKSIA

 Banksia is an Australian genus of shrubs and small trees that occurs on a wide range of soils including those that are so infertile, wet, or dry, that other woody species do not grow.

 Banksias for the Garden

Banksias usually grow best in well drained soils in a sunny position. Most respond to light pruning, and those which form a woody rootstock (lignotuber) can be heavily pruned. Only low phosphorus fertilisers should be used.

Species native to Western Australia are prone to root-rot fungus and generally do not grow well in parts of Australia which experience high humidity and rainfall in the summer.
Banksias range from low-growing shrubs to trees up to 25 m tall. Some species, for example Banksia ericifolia and Banksia menziesii, are known for their spectacular flower heads. The flower heads produce large volumes of nectar and attract many birds and small mammals to feed on them. ADVICES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE: Acquire digital imaging skills when you are young as such skills are very useful in your career and relationships. Stock photo sales via www.shutterstock.com will earn you a passive income, but it will not earn you sufficient to make a living. The reason being that as the competition is intense and you must know what the prospective buyers want. 

Tips for photographing the Merlion.
1. Tripod or support your hands on the railings. Steady hands
2. Bright sunshine at around 10am - 11 am
3. Focus on the eye
4. Preferably no people around the Merlion or
5. A person below the Merlion for scale.

Good Morning

Very rarely can I locate such a healthy lime plant on a roadside garden to take stock photos. It has sufficient nutrition, water, sunlight, pesticide and more care by someone.Its pale green leaves are unbroken and not spotted with fungus or insects as it has a strong immune system. It has many buds and fruits, like a fertile couple. 

This healthy lime plant in a roadside garden does not exist in the real world if it has not been well cared for by someone and is grown in the right place and at the right time in Singapore. There are no floods, droughts, hurricanes and war in this location.

A plant cannot take good care of itself, but a person can, if he wants to and do research on the internet.

In conclusion, my advices to young people: 
TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH DAILY.

A blooming key lime flower. Very difficult to photograph as there is breeze swaying the flower and low sunlight. Canon R5. Lens 24 - 105mm. Focus on the yellow parts. Use tripod as it helps a lot. AV Mode, ISO 200.
