A rare sighting of a bushy poinsettia tree in a house garden in Western Australia. Why?

I stayed in this airbnb house in Coogee, Western Australia. The poinsettia tree is a rare sighting in house gardens in WA. A probable reason is that it is hard to maintain. On closer look, the leaves have been attacked by fungus causing white spots and brown leaf rot.
