The Bleeding Heart Vine (Clerodendrum thomsoniae) is an attractive
ornamental vine and liana as it has dazzling crimson and white blooms
and shiny green foliage. It blooms well in direct sunlight.
I find it difficult to get sharp photos using handheld camera at Jewel Changi Airport viewing gallery of the HSBC Rain Vortex. This image is taken with a tripod and it looks much better and sharper.

Koch's bauhinia (Bauhinia kockiana) is a climber with attractive orange inflorescences that gradually turn to yellow with age. It has tri-veined opposite leaves. Image - some leaves have been eaten by caterpillars.

Good morning. Koch's Bauhinia in T2 carpark, Changi airport. Very difficult to see sharp images of this inflorescence in the internet, including NParks'. This is because it is hard to focus on a flower with breezes or hand shaking. I used a tripod and wait for the breezes to stop swaying the flowers. The yellow flowers are "elderly" according to NParks' website, but in this image, a yellow flower looks younger than the orange ones!

This Chinese violet grows wild on the bank of a river in Yio Chu Kang Crescent. Bees are attracted to it. It appears to have 2 eyeballs which is abnormal. Could they be caterpillars of butterflies?

EXPLANATION:
The indicator light and the light source are above the vehicle. On
the car park lot floor, there is a light sensor.
If the car park lot is occupied by the vehicle, the light source is blocked. No light reaches the light sensor. The indicator light turns red. If the lot is vacant, the light reaches the sensor. The indicator light turns green.

Gerald.
Gerald highly recommends the Geylang Bahru Food Centre for the good coffee, the braised duck and other food. Also the Mr DIY shop. He drove me there for coffee - fresh coffee powder from Gold Kili on this sunny and hot Sunday afternoon. Normally, it is very difficult to get a car parking lot, but he got one.
You can see the TRAY RETURN SIGN. It is mandatory for diners to return the food tray with the crockery and cutlery. Failure to do so may lead to a fine. This legislation resolvse some problems with shortage of cleaners who are usually senior citizens who work long hours 6 days a week for around S$2000 monthly salary.
I took this video to show the Geylang Bahru heartlanders and their
families bonding over hawker food. Social connections and eating build
strong friendships, relationships and trust.

PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS:
Manual Mode is not
good for photography of a moving person. Ellard kept moving his hand and
tip-toeing during photography. I took 9 shots in a series, but Ellard's movements of hands and body changed the lighting conditions. This act blurred the portraits.
This
first shot is least blurred as Ellard tip-toed. In Manual mode, the
movement affects focusing and changes of lighting. Overall, the image
is not satisfactory.

1. Use a narrow aperture for a sharp scene. f/8 or f/11 to achieve
lots of depth of field.2. Manual mode and tripod.
3. Focus about
1/3 of the way into the scene to keep both foreground and background
sharp.
4. Slow shutterspeed at 1/80 sec or lower
5. High ISO
NOT advised as it causes grainy photos.
*6. Use exposure
bracketing. Take 3 shots. Sky shot has faster shutter speed.
Mid-level shot at lowered stop or two and foreground shot lower.
Blend 3 images in Lightroom.
7. Good composition. Uncluttered
foreground, emphasize where rainbow intersects with ground object.
*8.
Add a polarising filter of good quality to remove reflections and
haze.
9. Post-processing important. Dodge and Burn etc.

Rainbows occur when sunlight shines through raindrops. The light is refracted as it enters the raindrop, then reflected off the back of the droplet and then refracted again as it exits and travels towards our eyes.
This causes the sunlight to split into different colours. The sun needs to be behind the viewer and needs to be low in the sky. The lower the sun in the sky, the more of an arc of rainbow the viewer will see.
Also, the rain, fog or other source of water droplets must be in front of the viewer. The angle at which the light is scattered is different for everyone, which means that every rainbow is unique to the observer.
Double rainbows form when sunlight is reflected twice within a raindrop. They are relatively common, esp when the sun is low in the sky, such as in the early morning and late afternoon. The second rainbow is fainter and more 'pastel' in tone. A key feature of a double rainbow is that the colour sequence in the second rainbow is reversed.

Mode.
The P Mode is rarely used or recommended as the AV and
TV Modes work effectively to get sharp images. In the P Mode,
the photographer does not bother with the settings of ISO, shutter
speed and aperture.
In this case, the P Mode worked well. I do not use the P Mode any more nowadays.
