4826. The relief taxi driver's woes when he drives at night---Multiple stickers in the windows.

I had to pick up my car from the repair shop at Bukit Merah Lane. The sun-tanned rounded headed taxi driver was chatty. "I have been a (relief) taxi driver for 23 years," Mr Wong told me. "The same partnership with the hirer for these 23 years!"

I was impressed.

"For the first 10 years, I used to get the car washed after my night shift, " Mr Wong said. He got a clean car to drive, but he does not wash the car!

"But the hirer does not wash the car when he handed over. Come to think of it, I was stupid!"

"You are kind-hearted," I said. "Hence he took advantage of you. Does he wash the car daily before he hands over to you?

"He says he does," Mr Wong replied. "But I doubt his honesty."

"Look at the numerous stickers on the car's windows," Mr Wong said. "My guests complain they can't see much of the city as the stickers obstruct their view. The hirer wants to do this to prevent the sun tan."

It was a fun journey from Ion Orchard to Jalan Bukit Merah to get my bumper replaced car.
