4576. A guinea pig in an overseas country had complications after neuter

Hello I am an owner of a Guinea pig. I have been watching your channel on youtube for sometime. I needed to reach out to you because vet in our country is very backdated and not as promising. I need some help for my guinea pig baby.
He was a healthy adult, male, weight :930 grams. He was neutered on 18th February. The following day due to not getting the right antibiotics for him, there is a swelling on the surgery site. The swelling isn't coming down. My local vet is suspecting this is an abscess. 

Due to shortage of antibiotics, he has prescribed Cefixime instead of Chloramphenicol. I have been giving my Guinea pig Cefixime and syringe feeding him Since yesterday. Please help me out. I am in dire need of help.

[2:54 am, 22/02/2023] David Sing: Do you wish to ask me some matters about your guinea pig? If the swelling is not bothering the guinea pig (owing to meloxicam being a painkiller), and the pet is active and pooping, you may not need to go to the 2nd vet for two-stitch removal. It is difficult to diagnose on videos. Good luck.

[7:44 pm, 23/02/2023] +880 xxx: Dear sir. I am heartbroken to tell you this. My guinea pig has died. He was weak all of a sudden. I tried feeding him glucose but after an hour or so he died. Thankyou for you help. I will forever remember it. I am grateful.
