3298. Sep 27, 2018 Visit by Dr Shan Hong Yu
A surprise visit by one vet from China wanting to view my premises. He was attending a conference and was rejected by two vet clinics. I welcomed him.

3297. The 14-year-old Jack Russell had seizures today. Previous perineal hernia.

14-year-old, good body conditioned Jack Russell
Sudden seizure - vomit some blood.
Rectal temperature below normal 37.5C
Sep 28, 2018. Passed away. Heart sounds not audible. Suspected pericardial fluid surrounded the heart.
Negative for heart worm, Anaplasma, Babesia, Ehrlichia and Lyme Disease
Blood test Total white cell count high, neutrophilia high. Bacterial infections. Stressed by new baby and cat? Past week, went to hide when he saw the leash taken to bring him out for exercise.
Feb 2013
Had perineal hernia (left dorsal) repaired. Advised neuter to prevent recurrence.
Did not want to do so.
Dec 2013. 2nd hernia repair.
Perineal hernia recurred 10 months later.
Neuter
2014. Dental scaling.
2016 - 2018 owner went to USA to work.
2018 - Brought home a cat from USA. Baby 8 months. Dog affected.

Technique: Capture the supermoon

Kit List
1. Long lens 300mm and above. This is where APS-C or Micro Four Thirds come in useful
2. PhotoPills app - moon rise times, milky way star trail shoots. visit photopills.com
3. Warm clothes
4. Raw processing software. The moon is incredibly bright. Software bring back detail from the highlights and bring up shadows for a perfect supermoon photo.
Tips
Moon is very bright in a black sky. Use spot metering. Moon is best slightly under exposed than overexposed. Turn of AF. Set Manual Focus.
1. Good timing (no haze). Early morning or twilight hours
2. Tripod needed. (camera shake)
3. Telephoto lens 200mm or longer (400 - 500 mm recommended to magnify the moon).
Purchase teleconverter to double zoom capacity.
6. Use Sunny 16 rule (basic daylight exposure)
e.g. ISO 100, f16 1/125 sec - image if too dark, use
f/11 or f/8. e.g. ISO 200, f11, 1/125
7. Manual focus (or live view)
8. Timer
9. Experiment with WB e.g. AWB (moon is white), Daylight WB (moon is yellow).
10. Use App to get moon times
