HOOK

Eyelid Abscesses in dwarf hamsters are surgical conditions presented at Toa Payoh Vets occasionally. The cause is usually poor hygiene in the hamster accommodation or feeding bowl. The eyelids get infected and pockets of abscesses form in the eyelids.

BE KIND TO PETS IMAGE VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED TITLE How to treat eyelid abscess in a dwarf hamster in 2015. Case study 2. The owner is unhappy when her hamster's eyelid abscesses recur.

DEFINE ABSCESS An abscess is a pocket of pus. It can be present anywhere in the body. When an area of your body becomes infected, white blood cells fight the bacteria within the damaged tissue. The area becomes inflamed and in some cases, pus forms in that area. This is known as an abscess. TREATMENT OF RECURRENT ABSCESS. SURGERY UNDER ANAESTHESIA. 1. INCISION AND DRAINAGE. Incision and drainage under general anaesthesia. The vet uses a scalpel to cut the abscess so that the pus will drain out. Normal saline is used to wash or irrigate the wound. I recommend a LONGER CUT (more than 5 mm, if possible) to permit residual pus to be drained out post-operation. A video is shown:  https://youtu.be/2MToYprOA0Y  2. REMOVAL OF THE CAPSULE OF THE ENCAPSULATED ABSCESS. This procedure applies to abscesses enveloped by a thick shell. Hence it is called an encapsulated abscess. Incision and drainage will not be effective. It is possible that encapsulated abscesses can be present in dwarf hamsters. However, they are obvious in guinea pigs and rabbits. Incision and drainage will not resolve the problem as the abscess will recur later. Removal of the capsule and abscess as a whole is the best practice. POST OPERATION NURSING CARE FOR THE FIRST 3 DAYS 3 days of inpatient care to prevent recurrence of the abscess in the dwarf hamster. At Toa Payoh Vets, we use cotton bud tips to express any residual pus from above and below the incision daily for at least 3 days. Then we drip antibiotic eye drops onto the eyes and wound. TIPS AND ADVICES TO VETS COMPLAINT OF RECURRENT ABSCESSES 1. Abscesses treated in late stages may recur especially if they are encapsulated. The vet must give the owner in writing that there is a possibility of recurrence to prevent misunderstanding. Recurrent abscesses may be encapsulated.    Some owners insist on bringing the hamster home on the same day but do NOT know how to provide the prescribed nursing care for at least 3 DAYS. It costs money to treat a recurring abscess. Some owners dispute that they had been advised on the post-operation care as they just applied eye drops onto the wound. The residual pus inside the fast-healing wound regroups to form a recurrent abscess. 2. WRITTEN POST-OP CARE INSTRUCTION TO PREVENT RECURRENT ABSCESSES To prevent misunderstanding, the vet should get the owner to sign a written instruction to the owner on the post-op care and record this in the medical record. 3905. 1. Earn a passive income in Amazon and Redbubble. 2. Setting up your Redbubble (focus on uploading your design)***** 3. Others by M Faure

Young people in 2020 have a means to earn passive income or work from home if they know how to do it. For the average person, acquiring digital imaging skills open the doors to earn passive income from some of the largest retail sites like Redbubble and Amazon.

With unique designs and text to be printed on demand (in t-shirts, mugs, floor mats, duvets, leggings, prints etc), you now have an international market.

But few young people will do it as they have their hobbies and work.

An example of a greeting card for print on demand is given by me:

2013 using Photoshop 6.0

2020 using Photoshop 2021

Using neural filters in Photoshop 2021 to create
other versions of the same image. See similar ones below.

Good luck to young people.

3 BLIND SPOTS

1. OVER ESTIMATING THE QUALITY OF YOUR DESIGNS. Start something new, not going to be your best.

2.  NOT UNDERSTANDING SUPPLY V  DEMAND
Her store started in July 2020. Now Oct ...23,000 views. Lots of suppliers, not buyers.
Giant influx of RB sellers daily ...Placeit.net...a lot of same things selling...from templates
Delivery a problem...logistics in Covid-19 pandemic.

People has been in RB for years. E.g. Protea .... flower - 1.8M results....competition still very high when use "Protea"

3. PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES
Think outside the box. Why RB promotes certain designs?  Promote more of these designs.
Organic marketing first.  Can tell which designs sell well.   THEN PAY ADVERTISING A BIT.

Paid advertising not advised.

She leverages on pinterest in her blog and her youtube.

3904. X-rays of human teeth. Vertical fracture, cavity, gum abscess

Dental treatment by dedicated experienced specialists at National Dental Centre. They took the time to explain and educate the patient.

23 October 2020. Gum specialist saw me as I complained of a gum abscess on my right upper jaw (lateral side). "No gum disease," he told me.

X-rays show cavity. Referred to root canal specialist.
17 November 2020. Root canal specialist. Gum abscess was due to vertical and multiple tooth fractures. No more eating nuts. Prognosis is poor. Will discuss options at next appointment.

Depth of gum opening is 6 mm on affected tooth.
Gum abscess some 2 months ago, now absent.
Cause was due to multiple fractures, with one vertical one being hard to crown.

All pulp get infected if one of the 3 roots of a molar is infected. .

Slight toothache on eating hard nuts some 6 to 12 months ago. Recovered when not chewing on right upper jaw.

Will discuss the treatment options at the next appointment.

TIPS AND ADVICES

1. Not to eat hard nuts at old age (70 years old now).

2. Need to use those small dental brushes to clear food remnants lodged between the teeth.
