Tree in front and to the left of my exercise machine. On very rare occasions, 

some birds perch high up in the trees.

During my morning exercise, I saw this mynah high up on a tree, in front and to my left. Short while. Two other birds including a white bellied bird and a  yellow-bellied pigeon stopped for short while and flew away. My Samsung Galaxy 8 took 2 pics of the mynah.

3345. Email query about Respiratory Infection in a 3-month-old red-eared slider

Hi Judy,

My name is XX and my RES is named Dreamer.

She is 2 months old, coming to 3 and it has been at least almost 5-6 days that she has Respiratory Infection.

When I first got her, she was healthy, eating and basking. I had other terrapins when I got her, they were all fit.

Lately, she has been gasping now and then and is seen swimming lopsided and I have separated her from the rest.

On 10th Nov I took her to a vet in Singapore. The vet did an X ray for her and it turns out she has gas on her left lungs but it is mild. I was advise to constantly give her vitamin A and she should improve in like a week.

She was not given any sorts of baytril shot or any other antibiotics as the vet said there wasn't any mucus/inflammation.

Ever since then I would soak her in V8 juice (3 tablespoons) and 1 and half cup of water.

I would then add two drops of Reptivit in the juice and soak her for about 1 hour with UVB light.

After an hour, I would dry dock her with for about 7 hours and change the bulb to infrared light at night till next morning, as I have googled, it was said on various articles that infrared light helps turtle with RI.

Today, she is moving around a little bit but is still gasping. She poops just a tiny bit too but not a lot. I am worried she might not get better.

As she is not really eating, she is just drinking a lil bit of the V8 juice I assume.

My tank setup:

UVA+UVB lighting (25W) + lamp clamp

25W water heater which heats up water for about 28-30c (water is 22L)

Water filter with carbon filter

2 basking rocks, big and small.

I have attached pictures of the tank and her xray 

I seek your assistance if there is anything I can do even more to help her.

3343. Circum-anal tumours in a 11-year-old Siberian Husky

"I consulted 3 vets," the owner was frustrated as the vets would not want to operate on his Husky's large circum-anal tumours. One referred him to the senior veterinarian who had a long waiting list. "I was a medic in my National Service days. I know that this tumour excision surgery is no big deal!"
His wife googled and found that Toa Payoh Vets perform circum-anal tumour surgery.

"Why do you want the operation?" I asked. "Some owners will not bother till the tumours are gigantic and soiling the apartment."

"The tumours smelled bad," he lifted the dog's tail to show the 2 large solid spherical circum-anal tumours.

"My dog is OK," the owner replied from his office. "He does not feel any pain and the stitches are all right."

3341. Deepavali - A Javan Mynah chirps on a tree behind my exercise machine

After exercise and chanting, a Javan Mynah perched on the tree behind me and chirped for a few seconds. Then he hopped onto the higher branches, chirped. After around 10 minutes, he flew off.

3340. A 6-year-old female, not spayed, Miniature Schnauzer pees blood

Nov 7, 2018.  The Schnauzer vomited and peed blood in the urine today. So, the owner was referred to me. She has bad breath.  Milk were expressed in the swollen mammary glands indicating
false pregnancy.

No abdominal pain. A small swollen bladder possibly a stone.
Urine test was done. No X-ray or blood test for the time being.
The owner will return in 2 weeks' time after antibiotics, to get dental work done. Spay is advised.
