Visitors worship and seek blessings for prosperity, good luck and success in their careers. Worshippers offer marigold and jasmine garlands, burn incense sticks and pray in a clockwise direction to cover different aspects of life like health and wealth. Despite facing tragedies in the past, the shrine remains a significant spiritual icon and a symbol of hope for many.

On 19 Mar 2026, I left Homm Laguna Bintan for Singapore at around 11.31am. Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal has an attractive large Garuda statue.
The officers of the Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal were courteous and helpful, efficiently clearing the ferry passengers for boarding.
It was a happy experience.
PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS:
I used the Canon R5, 75mm, 1/2000 sec, f/4.5, iso 320, tv mode, 11.21am, to capture the Garuda statue. I tried to avoid including the people and vehicles in front of the statue but didn't manage to avoid the people behind the statue.
Ensure that the horizon of the sea is level when editing. I had not given sufficient space for the tips of the wings as I was photographing from a tight spot at the entrance sliding door of the terminal. Hence, I nearly cropped off the tip of the left wing to get the horizon horizontal.
