9 Nov 2023: I was surprised to see 2 dragonflies perched on the
leaves of a lime plant and another plant in the evening in Lentor
Plain. They are rare owing to anti-mosquito thermal fogging and
habitat loss from regular grass cutting and tree trimming. Four days
of thermal fogging near the Countryside Park had just been
completed.
The surprising thing was that this dragonfly
permitted my camera lens to as close as 2 feet away.
Canon R5,
AV, 105mm, ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/160. Using f/5.6 will give you a good
bokeh background.
No more evening sunlight in this location.

I used TV because some dragonflies don't stay perched for long. Take
multiple shots as not all will be sharp.
CHINA - 4 NOV 2023: 9.13am. Hainan. Public garden of Hampton by Hilton Hotel. The male and female Variegated Green Skimmer (Orthetrum sabina) has the same appearance - pale greenish with white markings on its abdomen. It preys on other dragonflies. A strong and fast flyer.
The Variegated Green Skimmer is a strong and fast flyer. It preys on other dragonflies. One of more ferocious dragonflies. Seen in Hainan's Hampton by Hilton Hotel public garden after breakfast. Many of my fellow travellers probably rest in the lounge area after breakfast.
