SINGAPORE - 4 SEP 2026: 6pm. A digital photograph of rippling water with green foliage and light reflections in the clean Seletar Simpang Kiri River, off Yio Chu Kang Crescent road. A light breeze created the ripples while a golden setting sun cast light reflections on the river surface.

Create a video. 4 September 2026, 6pm, Singapore. A white-crested laughing thrush bird (see image) is calling inside a forested river area with butterflies and dragonflies near a slow flowing clean Seletar Simang Kiri river in suburban north Singapore. It is perched on a river bank tree branch looking down at the photographer. The gentle breeze sends ripples in the river (see image).
It makes the noisy laughing thrush sounds for a short one minute early in the evening, an orange sun is setting, sky is bright and light blue. Another laughing thrush flies and perches besides it. Both fly up and away to join six other laughing thrush, making loud calls.
The middle-aged Chinese lady photographer, fair complexion, hair in a tight bun, in white blouse and black pants, white walking shoes, use an iPhones to photograph it and record its call. She is joyful to have had captured the images and sound of the social bird and to see the laughing thrush flying and the rippling water with foliage and light reflections of the Seletar Simpang Kiri River.
A light evening breeze creates rippling water across the Seletar Simpang Kiri River, off Yio Chu Kang Crescent. The setting sun paints foliage and light reflections in the ripples, promoting mental and physical wellness to the passersby, cyclists on bicycles or joggers.
