SINGAPORE - 20 SEP 2026: 10am. Sunday. Yio Chu Kang Crescent forest. A clouded monitor lizard (Varanus nebulosus) is active on the ground (or in trees) using its sharp claws and snout to search through leaf litter for insects and small prey. It is a medium-sized lizard reaching lengths of up to 1.5 meters. It has a brownish body with muted, clouded patterning and pale or yellowish spots. Prefers terrestrial and arboreal environments like forests, woodlands and scrublands rather than staying close to water.
