"Six months ago, I saw a black snake hanging from the branch of the tree on the river bank," the 80-year-old broad shouldered Sikh with kind eyes pointed to a tree behind and to his left.  The tree grows slantingly on the edge of the green and clear waters of the Seletar Simpang Kiri river as if trying not to topple over.
