It uses its strong, stiff tail feathers for balance and its chisel-like bill to forage for insects beneath the tree bark.

Very noisy. Sounds of this Common Flameback woodpecker climbing up and down the tree trunk hurriedly using its chisel-like bill to forage for insects beneath the tree bark.
