MAINTAINING A GOOD FRIENDSHIP 
 
I am Dr David Sing, 76, a tall Chinese man with a full crop of silvery black hair. I have always wished to take photographs of three adult Scarlet Macaws flying in a line above and away from me. Three large parrots  33 inches (89 cm) long. Each has bold red feathers, bright yellow and blue wings, a white bare face, and a strong two-tone beak. I know they reside in the Crimson Wetlands of Bird Paradise. 
 
MY MISSION. I asked Mr Brian Peck for help. He is a tall Caucasian with silvery hair, well built, fit and steady. He wears a photographer's vest with many pockets and black pants. He is a professional photographer. He has the camera and the white Canon zoom lens to take the shots of flying birds.  
 
So, on 23 July 2026 at 9 am, Mr Peck asked: "David, what type of bird photos are you looking to shoot?" 
 
A bright cool morning with gentle breezes and blue skies, we entered the Crimson Wetlands. The heat and humidity were not suffocating yet. On a tall tree without leaves, pink and white birds are perched, waiting. Waiting for breakfast. "I hope you can help me take shots of three adult Scarlet Macaws flying in a line above me and around the Crimson Wetlands. 
 
Brian and I walked to search for the Macaws at 10am.  Many flamingos were getting hungry and looking for the bird keeper, Scarlet Ibises, ducks and parrots were sauntering on the ground. The sunshine became glaring. 
 
Brian and I photographed two Scarlet Macaws on the tree branches eating the fruits and other food from a stainless steel bowl. Where was the 3rd Scarlet Macaw? 
 
Brian waited one hour. He photographed other birds flying. No Scarlet Macaw flew. Only 2 were present and were eating.    
 
The weather was getting hot and humid. Beads of sweat flow from my forehead down my nose. 

The flamingos were hungry now. They hustle for the pellets placed in the contained. They waded in the shallow pond to drink water. No Scarlet Macaw flew today. We left for home. 
 
The next day, Brian sent me a beautiful photo of a Scarlet Macaw flying past him some days earlier. I thanked him for his kindness.
