The more common species are found throughout the island, from urban areas to the forested nature reserves
The Grass Yellows are generally weak flyers, fluttering low around bushes and flowers.
The identification of the species of Eurema is often not easy, particularly when the butterflies have a rather restless flight, and are alert when approached.
The Common Grass Yellow (Eurema hecabe) stops to sip nectar from the small orange and yellow Lantana camara flowers. Squat to take the photo at eye level with the butterfly.
