5857. 75 - 300mm lens. The Long-legged Marsh Glider.

SINGAPORE - 13 MAR 2026: 3.26pm. Banyan Villas Park. A yellowish-brown dragonfly, likely to be the Long-legged Marsh Glider or Dancing Dropwing (Trithemis pallidinervis) perches on a dead grass stem for many minutes. It often raises its abdomen in a tower-like position on sunny days to avoid overheating. It has relatively long legs.

It kept going back to the dead grass stem.
Hot sweaty afternoon

Tower-like position seen
Needed contrast with background to capture sharp image!

Photographed from sitting on a chair.
