In March 2026, Iran launched multiple missile and drone attacks against Bahrain as part of a wider retaliation against U.S.-Israeli strikes that began on Feb. 28, 2026. Iranian IRGC strikes targeted Bahraini aluminum facilities, critical infrastructure, and U.S. bases in the region, causing civilian injuries, damages in areas like Sitra and Muharraq, and hitting a desalination plant.
Key details of the March 2026 Iranian attacks on Bahrain include:
  • Targeted Infrastructure & Military Sites: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and U.S. military-linked installations, claiming these were retaliation for U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iranian infrastructure.
  • Civilian Impact (March 9): A drone strike on March 9 injured 32 civilians, including children, in a residential area of Sitra, according to a report from The Strait Times.
  • Desalination Plant Attack: An Iranian drone caused damage to a desalination plant on March 8, a case of Iranian aggression against critical infrastructure.
  • Ongoing Attacks (March 25): The IRGC continued attacks on March 25, with about 30 drones targeting Bahrain.
  • Regional Context: Bahraini authorities, including the Bahrain Defense Force, used Patriot missile systems to intercept strikes and reported that many attacks were thwarted, says Anadolu Ajansi.
The attacks in Bahrain were part of a broader, systematically targeted campaign against Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries holding U.S. military assets, with IISS noting extensive damage to energy and transportation infrastructure.

April 2026. Summer season beginning. Light rain during the changeover of season in March. No trees seen outside city areas due to hot desert climate. The government maintained the trees in city areas and affluent families grow trees in their properties.

Daytime. People don't go out, even if on leave. Too hot. Go out at night.

No Grabfood delivery riders, but local brand
No taxis in Sanad as cars are cheap. Taxis seen mostly in Manama city.
