by Dr Sing Kong Yuen. 5 April 2025.

How to get good images of flying aircraft?
Digital camera users. Two modes are as follows:

1. SHUTTER PRIORITY with ISO AUTO

2. APERTURE PRIORITYwith FIXED ISO from 100 – 400. See Mr Brian Peck's photo in the video.

Example is the photography of China Airlines Cargo and China Airlines passenger plane.

1. China Airlines Cargo. Boeing 747.  PHOTO: David Sing
I had settings at 1/1000 sec, f/4.5, ISO AUTO before taking the photo
Actual settings are: Canon R5, handheld,
Shutter priority, 105mm, 1/1600 sec, f/9, ISO 100.

2.  China Airlines passenger plane by Brian Peck. He used Aperture Priority and fixed his ISO from 100 – 400 before shooting.

--------------------------------
FOR AIRCRAFT TAXIING FOR TAKEOFF at Changi AirportViewing Mall,

I used Shutter Priority, ISO AUTO and tripod.

CONCLUSION

Brian Peck’s image was taken
using Canon R6, Lens 100 - 400mm which captures distant flying planes better than my Canon R5 Lens 24 - 105mm
