Prevention.
1. Primary care physician or family doctor.
2. Specialists e.g. endocrinologist, podiatric physician, eye specialist. Ideally, a nutritionist.
Regular visits to ensure strict control of blood sugar levels. take all prescribed medications, eat a healthy diet, refrain from smoking, regular exercise unless instructed not to by a physician. Exercise improves bone and muscle health, promotes circulation and helps stabilise blood sugar levels.
See your podiatric physician at least once a year for an assessment. A callus or wart can sometimes conceal a more serious problem, such as an abscess.
