5608. PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS: MOVING BUTTERFLIES. Best to use TV.

PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS:  MOVING BUTTERFLIES. Best to use TV.

This image was taken with AV Mode, but most of the images are out of focus. I had no time to switch to TV Mode as the butterflies stayed for a few seconds only. Canon R5 focused well on the eyeball which is quite sharp. For AV Mode, you need to take multiple images and hope that one of them is sharp.
For TV Mode, you are likely to have several sharp images out of many.

Canon R5, 105mm, 1/125sec, f/11, ISO 160.

A pair is seen. Uncommon. Today, not more than 3 butterflies were seen on flowers near the South Car Park flora.

GOOGLE REVIEW: Jurong Lakeside Gardens. Gardenhouse. 5 stars

26 Jan 2024.
1. AMENITIES. Gardenhouse in Jurong Lake Gardens is highly recommended as an event venue. I attended a Seminar in the  multi-purpose hall (Mempat Hall) on 25 and 26 Jan 2024.

The Mempat Hall is spacious and well equipped for 100 - 200 people attending a seminar. Its all-round glass windows provide greenery views, making it appear that the participants are amid the garden.

Outside, there are various species of flowers, tall trees and grass boosting mental wellness.

2. BUTTERFLIES.  Today, I saw around 3 butterflies. Two of them were the Florida white or Tropical white (Appias drusilla) visiting the IXORA flowers for very short durations.

They are 25-35mm. Males are almost perfectly white on both the dorsal and lower wings. Females have a black outer margin while the forewings have a yellowish hue.

Canon R5 camera, 105mm, 1/123sec, f/11, ISO 160. 25 JAN 2024 at 9.32am.

The NParks displayed some great photos of wildlife birds and scenes donated by members of the public. But these few photos suffer fading of colours due to years of sunlight exposure.

It is a pity that Jurong Lake Gardens do not know how to preserve such great photos "indoors", like Gardens by the Bay.

The AVS staff including the veterinarians organising the "Insights on Dog and Cat Training and Behavioural Welfare" Seminar did a good job in ensuring the participants had good views of the screens and a good lunch.
