 PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS: Merchant ships being photographed from my moving ferry from Tanah Merry  to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal on 12 Jan 2024. Sky was cloudy or had some sunshine at various times. The images were taken during the 1.5-hour journey.

1. Use TV Mode and shutterspeed of 1/1600 sec, as the ferry is moving and shaking. If you use 1/500 sec, your images may not be sharp.

2. Canon R5, 24-105mm lens. Use shutter priority mode.

Dial your shutter speed and focal length but set the ISO to AUTO

3. Moving and rolling ferry motions blur the images, if you use aperture priority mode.

4. Take multiple photos.

5. Rest your camera on a support or railing of the ferry to stabilise your camera.

6. Face the camera to the back of the boat to prevent sea water splashes onto the lens.

Practise digital photography of merchant ships.
