Image inspired by my meeting a 55-year-old man who works from home
in his widowed 80-year-old mother’s HDB flat once weekly. His two children are grown up.
He is in charge of the IT department of about 200 workers in Chennai and Bangalore for his financial institution.
"IT work is outsourced to India, nowadays as services are much cheaper than in Singapore," he told me.
