4820. Photographing a fluttering butterfly

The Common Rose butterfly sips honey at 1 pm in the public garden outside Double Cove Starview condo in Wu Kai Sha, Ma On Shan town, Hong Kong.

PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS: Use TV Mode and tripod. Rapid fluttering of wings. 1.56 pm 28 May 2023.
Canon R5, Tripod is necessary. TV, 1/1000 sec, f/4.5, AUTO ISO (ISO 500 in actual setting).

 

The butterfly just appeared and posed for me on 28 May, as if she knew I am looking to photograph butterflies in Hong Kong. Butterflies are rare, just as in Singapore, in urban gardens and under the hot afternoon sun.
