28 Apr 2023: This sighting of a butterfly at the Potong Pasir Connector path beside the Kallang River near the Central Expressway is rare in public parks and gardens for various reasons. One will be the regular anti-dengue fever pesticide fogging poisoning the leaves so that butterfly larvae and caterpillar cannot survive after eating such poisoned leaves.
The authorities will not know what to do to increase the butterfly population e.g. in Gardens by the Bay, you will hardly see more than 5 butterflies during any visit. Hard to believe, but true. Same for the Forecourt Garden of the Esplanade.
I was able to document its presence by creating a video which I posted on YouTube for the younger generations of Singaporeans to view at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ4EYgId28s
