4499. Ear lump syrian hamster re-appears

The ear lump at the entrance to the ear canal re-appears around 3.5 months after surgery. The Syrian Hamster is 2 years old

Dr Sing Kong Yuen proposed a wide excision of the ear lobe and ear canal. It is up to the owner to decide what to do.

If the owner does nothing, the lump will increase in size, becomes itchy, bleeding and infected as the hamster paws it. The hamster will stop eating and there will be a foul smell from the ear.
