My pet, Shinku,  a senior Shiba Inu is having diarrhea
And threw up
Diarrhrea twice yest and 4 times today
May I give human dhamotil to him?
Best to get vet to treat him

He recently had a lump removed and 4 came back
Worried that it may be cancer

Dr Sing said rhat the cancer may hv spread due to the location of the lumps. One suggestion was to amputate. Hmm but that will reduce his quality of life.
The fur  covers the whole area

I got a similar case. It was during Covid-19 lockdown. Owner chose not to amputate. Euthanasia done later

U think in this kind of instances, since 5 months for the 4 growths to grow to this size, what is the prognosis before it incapacitate him?

Prognosis…depends on whether the cancer cells have had spread past the present location. If not, dog will live longer and adjust to being 3-legged very well
MRI scans of cancer cells in the dog is not practical

The senior dog, Shinku that has cancer…the wound seems infected and he seems listless most times
Give iv drip antibiotic if you are ok
U think it is time for him to be put down. We are torn

CASE HISTORY

Shinku, Shiba Inu, MN, 12 years

1. Apr 18, 2022. Surgery. R elbow lump. 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm. Does not want histology. 

2. Sep 5, 2022. Consult diarrhoea, vomiting. Elbow lump recurr. Did not want amputation.

6. Dec 15, 2022. Tumours infected. What to do?
