SINGAPORE WILDLIFE. A rare sighting of the small-sized moth of 1-cm wing span in Yio Chu Kang Cres forest on 19 Oct 2022. Degradation of the habitat by thermal foggings leads to decline of moths.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION. Miniature moths in Yio Chu Kang Crescent Forest - 19 Oct 2022 are seen again but less than ten in numbers. This is due to loss of habitat by regular tree pruning, grass cutting of the forest path, thermal fogging to control dengue fever degrading the environment for the past months. North-South Corridor (Viaduct) construction nearby in Lentor Ave will be in progress for the next few years, adding to habitat loss. Dragonflies, damselflies, moths, butterflies and spiders have had disappeared in the past months.
