PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS: CATCH LIGHTS
10 Sep 2022: CATCH LIGHT IN PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
Cannot get too close as the lizard will
either jump off the tree or scurry up tree.
I was inside the car.
Park close to it. Unwind window from passenger seat.
Support my
camera on window sill of car or some inside car support from driver
side.
Focus my Canon R5 on his eye. P Mode.
Took several shots
continuous mode in sets of 3. Only 3 are OK. This is one of
them.
Catch light in eye makes this photo an attractive one.
It came from the morning sun, around 9.30 AM.
A
catch light is a spark of light in your subject’s eyes. This spark
will help you to draw your viewer’s attention to your subject’s
eyes, making them full of life and, well, sparkling.
The
light source must be visible as a reflection in the subject’s
eyes.
