When in bloom, beautiful frilly white flowers peek out from between the reddish-brown bracts of the native Crepe Ginger (ππ©π¦πͺππ°π€π°π΄π΅πΆπ΄ π΄π±π¦π€πͺπ°π΄πΆπ΄)! Just like its name, the starchy rhizome, or the plant stem beneath the ground, is edible but fibrous and tastes watery with a hint of ginger.

Good morning with a blooming crepe ginger flower from Jacob Ballas Children's Garden. I took only one photo as the leaves were all in bad condition. The gardener is not bothered with maintenance. Yet the beautiful frilly white flower blooms. I took this photo as the flower was beautiful but the leaves were sickly. A plant in poor health but can produce a beautiful flower. Hard to believe if I do not show this photo! This photo reminds me to take care of all parts of my muscles - I may need to jog too.
