4075. An old pug has "dementia".

The 13-year-old spayed female pug was panting continuously, so the owner brought her in for a check up. "She appeared to have dementia," he said. "She was not able to recognise me sometimes."

The rectal temperature was 37.5 deg C. I got a blood test done. Then an IV drip before sending her home to recover for dental work as he few teeth were plugged with thick tartar. 

Blood test showed abnormally high platelets and urea. The liver enzymes could not be analysed.   

In the home, the dog passed away in the evening on the same day. The owner said she passed away due to old age, being 13 years old.
