3574. Life span of a red-eared slider in Singapore

 6 Apr 2021. 8 pm. An owner of this 29-year-old red-eared slider phoned me to make an appointment as the slider had not moved since the afternoon. He WhatsApp images and a video.

In my case files, the oldest slider patient was 33 years old. My observation is that the red-eared sliders as pets in Singapore live for around 30 years.  This slider has lived to a ripe old age and had passed away.

One You-tube video says that red-eared slider can live up to 50 years of age in captivity but this is rare.
