Syrian hamster lethargic, weak, not eating, dragging right hind limb.
wet and dirty damp area around the anus, unpleasant smell and pale soft droppings.
Wet tail diarrhoea was diagnosed initially although there was a likelihood of right hind leg sprain/fracture. As the wet tail diarrhoea can cause death due to dehydration, the hamster was given medication and fluid therapy first.
The owner returned as she did her internet research and viewed a YouTube rabbit leg fracture dislocation in Toa Payoh Vets. This video confirms the presence of fracture or knee location in this Syrian hamster.
