3296. Stage 4 periodontal disease in a 7-year-old cat

Apr 19, 2019

The complaint was the rectangular bald patch which came out after the owner had left home to go fishing in Malaysia for 6 days. Her husband cared for the cat. He said he did not clip her during the 6 days. So what was the cause of this bald patch on the left neck? It is a mystery.

My hypothesis is that the cat had pulled off a big patch due to intense oral pain from the exposed root of the left molar tooth.

Fed wet food most of her life. Images of teeth shows severe periodontal disease in this cat's molar teeth.

3 badly decayed and loose teeth were extracted.
