1. SINGAPORE FOOD. LAKSA IN 2017
Sunday Dec 3, 2017 10.30 am breakfast
Couple from China migrated to Singapore around 11 years ago. The wife started this small food stall for many years. The husband and eldest daughter now help her. The 19-year-old daughter is eldest ("tar" in Mandarin). "Tar" also means "big".

19 Dec 2022. Potong Pasir Food Court. Laksa stall. Visit on 19 Dec 2022. Monday 12.30pm.
I did 3 videos in 2015, some
7 years ago of this stall. (Search "Potong Pasir food court in
Youtube). The stall operates 24 hours a
day and has a well designed illuminated signboard with a diverse
offering of noodles. The laksa is still good. The husband and wife
team was present today.
The wife was most happy with me taking this video and you can see her radiant smile for the "photo". I do not have my 83-year-old friend's morbid sense of humour. In 2015, he paid her "hell money" for the laksa.
Being a China National and new, she accepted the notes. When she realised this was not genuine, she returned back the notes without being angry. Today, my friend and I had lunch of laksa. My friend told me, "She said I must have had passed away, since she had not seen me for more than 6 months!" He was not offended.
This time, she gave him a dose of his medicine! "You really said that he must have passed away?" I asked her. She admitted with a laugh, "He had not been here for so many months! So I presume he had passed!"
My 83-year-old still has this humour and
said to me, "Today will be your last laksa!"
I am used to his sense of humour and was not offended. I am 72 years old. Who knows whether I will be on earth tomorrow, but I don't joke about such matters of end of life. I took a video to recommend the laksa of this stall. Maybe it is called "Jia Jia" or Samwei 3 Food Store.
