as owner is worried. Ate at home.

 

 

 

29 NOV 2021. Paddling and anorexia. No big eggs in X-ray. Not eating pellets. Ate 3 cooked prawns.Some poo in water. Still paddling and anorexic. Why?

 

TANK TOO SMALL

 

 

3 Dec 2021. Back to normal.

 

 

 

 

8 DEC 2021.  Video. Grass exercise.  Paddling and don't eat. Has tendency to constipation.

 

 

1 JAN 2022. Back to normal.

 

 

25 JAN 2022. Paddling. No eggs laid. NEW tank. 

2 FEB 2022. HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR. No more paddling. Eats a lot.

 

 

5 JUN 2022. Normal. Eats a lot. No paddling. No UV light. Hailey water filter. Work from office, so outdoor grass exercise on weekends. Usually swim in water or walk around the house.

 

 

 

11 JUL 2022. Video. Hyperactive, Does not want to stay in water in tank. Paddling and anorexia for 1 week.  I advised outdoor exercises. She ate after exercises. No further complaint.

 

 

 

12 SEP 2022. Video. No more paddling. Eats a lot.

MANAGEMENT - advices from Dr Sing Kong Yuen to stop leg paddling (2nd time) in Sep 2022.
Sep 2022: Red-eared slider. F, 3.5 years old. 3 kg

 

 

1. Bigger water tank with sufficient space to swim. Previous water tank was crammed.
2. Basking area is needed for red-eared sliders to dry out. She uses pink stool.
3. Water filtration. Hailea RP400 internal filter bought from pet shop on level 4 NEX mall
4. No UV lighting used in this case. Window sunlight. Morning or afternoon. 30-60 min.
5. Feeding of Nutrafin pellets. 100 per day.  No prawn or chicken meat as she will not eat pellets after that.
Multivitamin and calcium from Toa Payoh Vets smeared onto 5 pellets per day.
6. Outdoor grass land exercise and sunshine. Appetite is good after exercise.

 

12 SEP 2022. Video. No more paddling. Eats a lot.

Cumulus clouds are white, puffy clouds that look like pieces of floating cotton and are often called "fair-weather clouds".

The base of each cloud it flat and the top has rounded towers.

When the top of the cumulus clouds looks like the head of a cauliflower, it is called cumulus congestus or towering cumulus.

These clouds grow upward and they can develop into giant cumulonimbus clouds, which produce thunderstorms.

1. Support your phone on a ledge or railing. In this case, I placed it on top of the Canon R5 camera which was on a TRIPOD. 

2. Ensure no movement of your hand as you hold the phone upright. 

3. Ensure vertical and horizontal lines are normal. 

4. Start video. 

5. Most people hand holds the phone and take the video. Waterfall drops may turn out not to be sharp as hand movements shake the lens.

4063. VETERINARY - Health screening. Blood test is needed in a sick old Maltese. Septicaemia.

SEPTICAEMIA, HEPATITIS AND GASTRIC DISTENSION IN AN OLD MALTESE

8 Sep 2022.
14-year-old Maltese. Very fussy eater for 2 weeks. Ate only new food and hand-fed. But now has no appetite. Bloated stomach filled with gas. Percussion and a stethosope used - Gas sounds were heard.

The owner was not keen on a blood test to screen for the health of this old dog as a vet had done a blood test some weeks ago.

"Blood tests are important now to screen the health of the dog. He is ill as he is not eating." The owners consented. Blood test revealed a serious infection of the liver and blood due to bacteria. The dog had hepatitis and septicaemia.

Antibiotics were prescribed for the next 10 days and an IV dextrose saline drip was given.

11 Sep 2022.
The owner WhatsApp me regarding a big bruise on the jugular area of the left neck. "The dog had traumatised this area using his left hind paw to scratch it," I said. The dog does this now and then as confirmed by the owner. The owner would ice this area and apply a steroid cream which the wife had been prescribed by her doctor.

As to why the dog 

scratched this area and bruising it, the cause is unknown.

3. Try not to get harsh sunlight onto the white blooms as you will lose details of the white calyxes.

How to capture a moonrise or moonset

There are two exceptions to the advice to avoid photographing the Full Moon.

The first is when there's a total lunar eclipse, and the second is when a Full Moon as it rises or sets, as it's a great alternative to a sunset. The sight of a Full Moon peeking above the horizon and turning from deep orange to pale yellow to bright white during twilight is a spectacular sight. It also presents an opportunity to get the Moon in the context of a beautiful landscape.

The colourful spectacle lasts mere minutes and is easy to miss, but, like everything else in the night sky, a rising Full Moon is predictable down to the second. Simply find out exactly on what day the next Full Moon is going to be where you are, and exactly what time sunset is on that date, then look to the east for the moonrise. Start-off with your camera set to ISO 100, f10 and 1/125.
