4225. Photography. A locksmith works 5 half-days a week at Raffles Place

1. Hand-held. Focus on the "eye" of the locksmith. Hand must not be shaky. P Mode. Zoom lens.
2. Place your hand and camera against a wall to stabilise your focused point onto the eye.
3. Use single point central focus onto the "eye" of the locksmith.
4. Don't take one image only. I took 3 images fast in a few seconds.
5. This image confirms the Canon R5's claim that it has the software to detect the eye.

A locksmith works 5 half-days a week at Raffles Place. Can a doctor with his private practice work solo 5 half-days a week on weekdays only?

4224. HISTORY. LENTOR GREEN

Friday, 19 Aug 2022.
Met an 80-year-old man resident in Lentor Green. He was thin, with white beard and kind eyes. Knee guards for outdoor walking only. He has no knee surgery. No diabetes. No high blood pressure. No cholesterol tablets. 

He used to have a small farm, but had not worked like others.
He said that Lentor Green was the first residential estate built in 1983. Completed but no buyers as there were jungles surrounding it.

Playground installed 10 years ago. Looked dated to me.

TRIPOD is necessary to get sharp images.
Lens is also important

Canon R5, 24-195 lens, P Mode. Take several shots to get one sharp one. You hope that there is no breeze swaying the fern frond (None in this situation).

PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS: Flesh flies. Use TV or AV

18 Aug 2022. PHOTO.  FLESH FLIES mostly feed on nectar, sweet foods, and liquids from dead animal bodies. Spotted a pair in the Yio Chu Kang Crescent forest, 18 Aug 2022.

Canon R5. Tripod. 9 AM

Life cycle 2-4 weeks. 

"What is this image?" I asked 22-month-old grand daughter at the dining table during dinner yesterday. "It's .....it's an insect!"  She was correct.

Grey Branded Darter Butterfly, Yio Chu Kang Crescent forest, Singapore, 13 Aug 2022. Bright sunshine 10 AM. Canon R5. Focus on eye. Tripod is needed to get such a sharp image. Rare sighting due to habitat loss and degradation of the environment by insecticide fogging. Several mosquitoes landed on my arms despite recent fogging 3 days ago.
