6064. Toa Payoh Vets old pages

2 Jun 2026.

Madeline, thank you to your brother for advices.

Some 20 years ago, I had a kind man and friend, Mark Richman (deceased due to cancer) who set up the structure of content management in Earthlinks for me. All I had to do was to ftp the webpages and images and I did this using Frontpage and created several hundreds of Frontpage webpages using at least four domain names.

Three examples of htm pages created by me some years ago, using Frontpage to create.
After creation some 20 years ago, I ftp the content and images to Earthlinks’ Toa Payoh Vets using the FTP software.

I made the mistake of creating other veterinary and associated websites like bekindtopets.com, sinpets.com, kongyuensing.com which are now not available as I stopped payment for the hosting fees.  I did not download the webpages and images, hence have had lost them.

Presently, I have to use Frontpage to update the webpages and ftp directly to Earthlinks,
but Frontpage is obsolete. I have one copy. I dare not try other Frontpage equivalents as I am not technically sound with reference to websites.  Also, the cancer drugs I am taking, made me very tired such that I nap frequently during the day too.

If I change toapayohvets.com to WordPress etc, all the htm webpages and images will be lost unless I download them. However, I don’t have much energy to do all and these webpages will NOT be on google.

Below are some examples of the “htm” pages created using Frontpage

Aphrodite's Roses are four giant red rose sculptures located along the outdoor boardwalk at VivoCity. Created by Japanese artist Hiroshi Yoshimizu, they are a permanent public art installation that doubles as outdoor seating for visitors.

6062. ANTA sportswear shop at VivoCity mall. Photography tip. Google review.

SINGAPORE - 28 MAY 2026. 11.23pm. ANTA Vivocity is a sportswear shop.  Anta is one of the leading brands for sports footwear, clothing and other sports equipment and it is the world's largest purely sports equipment company by revenue and third-largest manufacturer of sporting goods overall, behind Nike and Adidas.

 28 May 2026:

UNCOMMON UK 12 SHOES

ANTA @ VivoCity

I bought my first broad (extra wide) ANTA walking shoes at size UK 12 or US 13 at ANTA Vivocity around 2 years ago.

This size is very uncommon among almost all shoe brands in Singapore and some European shoe shops. Even ANTA has very little stock.

This shoe fits me if I use my customised insoles. It is extra wide. It has prevented heel pain when walking for the past 2 years of wear. No more plantar fasciitis problems. I have worn out 2 pairs.

ANTA will need to stock some UK 12 sizes. Service from the staff was excellent.

PHOTOGRAPHY TIP:
I attach a photo of the ANTA sportswear shop at Vivocity.

6061. Oriental Garden Lizards in Lentor Estate 2026

 UPDATE:
https://2010vets.blogspot.com/2026/05/6061-oriental-garden-lizards-in-lentor.html

The Oriental Garden Lizard (Calotes versicolor) is a diurnal, insectivorous reptile often found in Singapore’s residential estates. In the Lentor Estate, these lizards are occasionally spotted basking in the morning sun, though local sightings have become rarer in recent years due to habitat loss from landscaping and plant pruning. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Key Sighting Details & Characteristics
  • Local Hotspots: Sightings in the Lentor area are primarily concentrated in the landed housing enclaves and nearby parks, such as:
    • Banyan Villas Park
    • Lentor Road Park
    • Lentor Street Playground
    • Lentor Loop [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
  • Appearance: They are medium-sized agamid lizards. Males undergo a striking color transformation during the breeding season, turning a dull brown to a vibrant orange or bright red around the head and throat (which has earned them the nickname "bloodsucker"). [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Behavior: They are ambush predators and are highly active during the day. They prefer perching on shrubs, low branches, fence lines, and tree trunks to hunt insects like grasshoppers and ants. [1, 2, 3, 4]

The Oriental Garden Lizard (or Changeable Lizard) basks in sunlight primarily to increase its body temperature. Basking increases its body heat, which speeds up its metabolism and limbers its muscles so it can hunt, escape predators, and digest food efficiently. Vitamin D synthesis. It requires exposure to UV light to synthesize Vitamin D3 which is essential for its body to properly absorb calcium and build healthy bones. Basking on elevated perches like tree trunks allows it to keep a sharp eye out for passing prey or territorial rivals.

UPDATE:

The Oriental Garden Lizard (or Changeable Lizard) basks in sunlight primarily to regulate its body temperature. As a cold-blooded (ectothermic) reptile, it relies entirely on the environment to warm up. Basking increases its body heat, which speeds up its metabolism and limbers its muscles so it can hunt, escape predators, and digest food efficiently. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Beyond simple warmth, this sunbathing behavior serves several critical survival functions: [1]
  • Digestion: The lizard must maintain a high enough internal temperature to digest the beetles, ants, and other insects it eats. Without solar heat, the digestive process slows down drastically. [1, 2, 3]
  • Vitamin D Synthesis: Just like humans, the lizard requires exposure to UV light from the sun to synthesize Vitamin D3. This vitamin is essential for their bodies to properly absorb calcium and build healthy bones. [1, 2, 3]
  • Vigilance and Foraging: Basking on elevated, prominent perches like tree trunks, fences, or walls allows them to absorb heat while keeping a sharp eye out for passing prey or territorial rivals. [1, 2]
  • Behavioral Adjustments: Basking isn't just about absorbing heat; it's a dynamic balancing act. If the lizard gets too hot, it will shift its posture, change skin coloration to reflect light, or retreat to a shady spot to prevent overheating. [1, 2, 3]
