nectar from a flower. It has distinct orange bands in abdomen and transparent windows in its wings, mimicking a wasp to deter predators.

SINGAPORE - 8 May 2026. The Japanese Jasmine (Pseuderanthemum carruthersii) is an evergreen shrub bearing white flowers with deep purple or pink spots in the throat. Ornamental flowers.
SINGAPORE - 8 MAY 2026: 10.14am. Lentor Loop Park. The Short-banded sailor (Neptis columella) is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in South and Southeast Asia.

This species bears a close resemblance to the Common Sailor (Neptis hylas papaja), and two can only be distinguished with a closer scrutiny of the white markings on the wings. Generally, the Short Banded Sailor is larger than a typical Common Sailor.
Physical Description of Adult Butterfly:
Above, this species resembles various Neptis species in having similar white markings against dark brown to black background. On the forewing, the white cell streak is narrow and short, and the spot in space 1a elongated. On the hindwing, the broad discal band does not reach the costa. In the male, vein 8 of the hindwing ends on the termen just below the apex (in contrast, this vein ends on the costa for Neptis species). The speculum on the hindwing upperside is prominent. Underneath, the white markings are set against yellowish brown background.

Underneath, the wings are rich golden ochreous in ground color, and nearly all white markings prominently outlined with black borders.

SINGAPORE - 10 MAY 2026: 9am. The Lesser Grass Blue butterfly (Zizina otis) is one of the smallest butterfly species. The male has a dull purplish-blue colour on top of its wings while the female tends to be browner. The underside of the wings is typically gray with a series of small black spots. It is often found in open grassy areas, urban gardens and parks, where they fly close to the ground.

SINGAPORE - 28 APRIL 2026. 1.32pm. Lunch with a younger crowded, mostly office workers. Tsui Wah Restaurant Cathay's popular Crispy Bun. At $4.20, the Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk is simple comfort food done right! It's crispy, buttery, and lightly sweet. Just be sure to eat it while it's hot, or the bun gets a bit tough when cold. Better to order a cup of tea or coffee to experience a satisfying meal.
The Anzac Bridge, opened in 1995, is one of the seven main bridges around Sydney that make up the annual ‘7 Bridges Walk’.
Anzac Bridge links the CBD to the Inner West and northern suburbs but with its multiple lanes of traffic in both directions, it’s not the most ideal bridge for pedestrians. Apart from the 7 Bridges Walk, I’d never normally walk across it.
The bridge honours the WWI Anzacs, many of who never returned home and died and were buried overseas. Two bronze statues of soldiers - one Australian and one New Zealander - stand in tribute to these men. Although you can't see it, a handful of sand from Gallipoli (Turkey) rests under the foot of the Aussie digger.
I drive over this bridge often but I recently saw it from the Sydney Fish Markets. From here, you get a nice view of the two diamond-shaped pylons that rise up, each 120m tall, and the fan-like stay cables that that give the bridge its distinctive look.
11 May 2026 at 11.04am. Coffee and tea. I had a late breakfast with my wife at the Toast Box Northpoint mall.
One cup of tea, one cup of coffee, 2 eggs and 2 slices of buttered kaya toasted bread were purchased. The price of $8.90 covered the food on the tray as seen in the video. The half-boiled eggs had been placed in hot water for around 9 minutes. When cracked open, the egg white is white, not runny and the yolk is an orange globe, not runny. I prefer the egg yolk to be runny when the egg is cracked open.
"Customers can request more or less than 9 minutes," one service staff told me. The slices of bread have been toasted and contain a spread of kaya and butter. The cafe is not crowded at this time, but is mainly occupied. Service is courteous. It is a good place to meet and chat with friends.
