PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS: Red-collared lorikeet (Trichoglossus rubritorquis)'s frontal view, eye contact makes attractive photo. Frame it between branches will focus viewer onto the lorikeet. He was stationary. I could have used shutter speed 1/500sec.

It is the only lorikeet with an orange-red collar compared to the rainbow lorikeet.   Conservation status is least concern although population is decreasing.

5610. PERSONALITY of a top naval officer of aircraft carrier.

Navy Officer's Betrayal - Fatal Vows - True Crime.

A top administrator in the Navy with his wife's help. Faced several challenges in their first years of marriage. Moved on. Still married while others have divorced.

In Washington, he didn't know how to play or didn't want to play politics. His personality was too direct, abrupt and he lacked a lot of compassion. Blog from his soldiers said he was an SOB. He was not made an admiral. A selection committee member blacked-balled him for admiral job - his wife was mentioned. Wanted to be top navy man but wife associated with another wife who complained about sexual assault in party in which top naval man was present.

He retired in his 50s. Ship contractors' job, Worked for wife's cousin's housing project - more pay but less happy. Got fired. Spent on night clubs. Divorce lawyers fees S$150,000 as wife wanted to fight the divorce. Shot wife and then himself. He would be broke as house had no more equity. Letters of explanation posted before murder-suicide.

Sunday 28 Jan 2024:
My first visit to the Bird Paradise, looking forward to photographing a diversity of birds. It is brand new set up.

Today, it appears to have very few species of birds in the Australian Outback area compared to uncountable birds in its earlier location at Jurong Bird Park. A laughing kookabura was probably basking on the railing at 10.20am, so I was able to take a decent photo to share with viewers.

There appears to be more facilities under construction. I did not have time to see the bird shows. I hear that the Oriental Pied Hornbills are either caged or used for performance. I will see them next time.

Overall, a clean tourist attraction. Very good service from the staff and drivers of trams, photographers and entrance staff. Keep up the good work.
