It is too much to carry a camera bag with many lens when taking local wildlife photography.
I use one one zooms lens from 18mm to 250 mm, DSLR Canon camera. The tip is to use the setting to "P" Mode. This will be easier for amateurs to take good photographs of wildlife without having to figure out the shutter speed or aperture.
The follow images are taken with this zoom lens.

The regular and once-monthly clearing of the vines, creepers, grass and leaves from the railing and the nearby areas of Lentor Avenue/Yio Chu Kang Crescent result in the loss of habitat for this young Oriental Garden Lizard. He has no insects to hunt and survive. There are very few of such creatures nowadays, less than 5 in this area which is being developed into a major road. The lizard will become extinct as Singapore develops more land and build more.
Mar 20, 2020. Rare sighting of the oldest Oriental Garden Lizard seen by luck, being at the right place at the right time. How do I know? Its length is longer and its head is broader compared to the younger ones. (show photo side by side).

On the same day, at the Countryside Park Garden, there was a younger adult. Hunting.
As the habitat is lost owing to construction of the highway, these lizards are getting extinct.
Jun 4, 2020.
A good conditioned Oriental Garden Lizard is seen along Yio Chu Kang Crescent, opposite the Seletar Simpang River. He seemed to be shedding his old coat.

This Oriental Garden Lizard was not bothered with me taking videos and photographs. Once, he decided to hop down from the ropes. After that he went up the ropes and onto the barrier pole!

The following lizard could be the same one as the above on the barrier pole but on different dates.
THE GUINEA PIG HAS A GIGANTIC FACIAL LUMP - PT 1/3
THE GUINEA PIG HAS A GIGANTIC FACIAL LUMP - PT 3/3 An auroscope may be used to check the inside of the mouth of the guinea. Special dental instruments are used to open the mouth of the guinea pig wide for inspection. Dental X-rays are ideal. If not available, do the skull X-ray.
Antibiotics, drainage, and surgery are all common treatment for jaw abscesses.
1. Edit the video - show the use of the burring tool to trim the excess length. Burring is said to reduce the likelihood of tooth fracture if one uses just a cutter.
A guinea pig grows continuously unlike human teeth. They are worn down by the guinea pig eating hard food like hay. However, this guinea pig was not given sufficient hay and the teeth grew and grew. They overlap and the guinea pig cannot eat properly. He loses weight. This vet educational video shows the burring or cutting of the overgrown teeth to enable the guinea pig to eat normally again. After the procedure of burring using the Dremel 300 cutting wheel as shown in this video, the guinea pig now can chew hay normally and has gained weight.
Early signs like loss of appetite warn the owner that the teeth are overgrown. She sought Toa Payoh Vets for early treatment and now the guinea pig is thriving.
Sketch of the day no 668 in my moleskine art journal is a drawing of a Red whiskered bul bul, a tropical bird found in my garden in Penang, Malaysia. It has a pretty cool punk hairdo! Maybe he’s going out tonight?
Happy weekend!
Today’s sketch of the day in my moleskine art journal is of a common bird in

House crow.Crows
are really intelligent birds, resourceful and they have a good memory but they
attack the other birds and can be real pests.
When my brother and I were young, he threw a rock at a crow but it wasn’t
killed so it went to tell all its friends about us. For about a week,
everytime we left our house, a few of them would swoop down from the trees to
attack us. It was traumatising. Think the
birds from Alfred Hitchcock!

The sun had dropped below the horizon. I hurried back as the twilight glow settled. Suddenly this male Goldenback woodpecker flew onto the lower tree trunk, searching for food. He hopped upwards, pecked at something, found one hole and put his head in. He was in the hold for a few seconds. I hope he had found some dinner such as insects. He must be hungry as he hopped further up and looked for food.
No woodpeckers should be out so late hunting. He might have a brood to feed. The trees in this Countryside Park Playground had been trimmed short a few days ago. Not many insects are available now.
