Today, I decided to get out early at 8 am to the 2nd exercise area where there are more open spaces and trees, wondering whether I would see the white-throated kingfisher or pink-necked green pigeon. The area was tranquil. No birds flying about.
I looked up the two trees I used to see the birds. There was the kingfisher perched midway up the tree!
He was so quiet up the tree and stayed for a few minutes. I took more images of his turning his beak left and right and looking straight at me.
A pink-necked green pigeon appeared on the other tree. There were around 3 of them. I took images
The kingfisher was still perched on the same tree while I photographed the pigeons
The male and female pink-necked pigeons also perched on the trees for some minutes. One of them chased the other away from the tree. One collected twigs once and flew to the nest in the hedge at the back of a house.

At around 8.15 am, I left to go to exercise in the first exercise area which is smaller and semi-circled by houses. There were no birds there. A gentle breeze. At 8.30 am, I stopped exercising and walked to the 2nd exercise area wondering if the kingfisher was still perched on the tree. He was there! There were a couple of pigeons playing or fighting on the branches.
It was getting to 9 am. I had to stop and go to work. I wonder if the kingfisher will appear tomorrow Mar 6, 2019?
