I had a tripod and Canon R5 set up to photograph a dragonfly. Suddenly an overweight female security guard in white blouse and black pants asked me "What are you doing here?".
She was not well trained to be polite or discerning. Anybody could see me at the tripod with my Canon camera taking photos of the plants or something inside the "Botanic Gardens" of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), opposite Kopitiam.
Such security guards need to show their authority to photographers who carry bigger cameras other than handphones! They will ignore a person using handphones, but not one using a digital camera with tripod.
"I am taking a photo of the dragonfly," I informed her. She said, "It is ok to take photo of the dragonfly BUT NOT OTHER areas!".
I attach a photo of the rare dragonfly, likely a Neurothemis intermedia for viewers.
KTPH has a billboard showing about 30 species of dragonflies and damselflies have had been photographed. In reality, you would be lucky to find one dragonfly during your visit.
