4174. PHOTOGRAPHY. Gentle breezes Marina Bay lady in white

Gentle breezes sweep over the clear waters of Marina Bay, cooling the tanned lady in white TO BUY PHOTO:  shutterstock.com/g/toapayohvets   19 Jul 2022

PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS from Dr Sing Kong Yuen

I took 3 images in succession, focusing on the lady's eyes. Zoom lens 18-200mm, Canon EOS 90D, P Mode.

Some photography magazines advise using the Manual, Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority Modes. I find that it was not possible to get good exposure due to lack of professional experience in the settings and the very short duration of time to take this photo.

SINGAPORE – JAN 25, 2021: A basking Japanese Rice Grasshopper, Oxya japonica is a pest as it is herbivorous and eats the farmers' crops. Climate change has increased its numbers in some countries.

2 FEB 2023

The Malayan Eggfly is dark reddish brown medium sized butterfly. It has a series of post-discal and sub-marginal white spots on both wings. Seen in Lentor St Playground on 2 Feb 2023, 9 am.

This brown medium-sized butterfly perched on the white flowers in a plant in Lentor Street Playground. He posed for me for over one minute. Flew away. Then came back to the same tree leaves and posed for me longer. My Canon R5 lens was within 3 feet away from him. Sometimes, the butterfly will quickly fly away but not this butterfly.

I took two videos too.

VIDEOGRAPHY A VIEW OF SOUTH CHINA SEA Tues 19 July 2022. iPHONE'S 12's VIDEOS OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA FROM SINGAPORE'S SENTOSA RASA RESORT.

  The following information is from:

https://www.southchinasea.org/introduction

The South China Sea extends from the Strait of Malacca in the southwest, to the Strait of Taiwan in the northeast. Over 500 million people in China, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam live within 100 miles of its coastline.

Biodiversity and Natural Resources: It has a remarkable amount of biological diversity, including over 30% of the world’s coral reefs and many valuable fisheries. It is also thought to contain abundant oil and natural gas, a prospect of vital interest to the energy-importing countries around the region.

Sea lanes of communication: It is one of the world’s busiest international sea-lanes with many of the world’s busiest shipping ports. Over half of the world’s oil tanker traffic and over half of the world’s merchant fleet (by tonnage) sail through its waters every year. It is a strategic maritime link between the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean, and therefore of paramount importance to major naval powers.

Regional solutions for Regional problems: The South China Sea is an area of growing concern over conflicting territorial claims, piracy, poaching, resource depletion, pollution, drug trafficking, illegal migration, and terrorism threats.
